MIEC, in partnership with CRICO/Candello, provides a catalog of case studies as learning opportunities across a wide variety of specialties and circumstances to help policyholders build awareness and risk mitigation strategies. MIEC also offers specialty-specific information sheets that draw on claims data from Candello, Preverity, and other sources to show the drivers of risk in different medical specialties. Included are examples of real malpractice cases, and strategies for maximizing patient safety and reducing liability through targeted risk management interventions.

Medical Specialty One Sheets
MIEC Medical Specialty One Sheets offer concise, up-to-date snapshots of malpractice data by medical specialty. Claims data information is based in part on the Candello national claims database, which codes data to reflect clinical data and contributing factors that lead to claims. Each specialty One Sheet includes information such as average claim severity, average indemnity, common clinical factors, and common contributing factors. The One Sheets also offers a case example from the specialty and customized risk mitigation strategies.
